On Call...

Every so often I'm on 24/7 on call support for our critical systems. I get a call over the weekend from someone asking if I'm on call. I tell them yes. At this point I'm thinking that something went down and I needed to fix it. Instead the person asks me if the office build was open over the weekend because they needed to go into the office. I'm like WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?!. I couldn't believe that someone would ask me if I was on call then ask if the building was open. RETARDED.

HD Retards

Coworker calls me up today and asks me what needs to be done to change an internal mailing group into an internet email address group. Told him we just needed to enabled the group address in our spam filters. He laughed and proceeded to tell me when he sent the request to his help desk support group he got a reply that said he needed to change the group name so that it ended in group. :SLAPS FOREHEAD:

External battery

So my coworker comes by to tell me a story. Apparently one of our retarded coworkers came by and told him that her laptop battery was no longer charging and requested a new battery. He went ahead and ordered one and let her know when it came in. When he proceeded to give her the new battery she told him "You must have misunderstood me. I meant the 'external battery'." At the point my coworker was at a lost for words. How can someone who works in IT not know what an AC ADAPTER IS? And how she came to the conclusion that it was an "external battery" we will never know. Retards never cease to amaze us.

I Know Exactly What You're Talking About

The ironic thing is that I work in a building that looks exactly like the building regularly shown in the Dilbert cartoons.

Welcome...

Welcome to Working with Retards.....

Everyone who has a job can relate to having to work with retarded coworkers. These people not only make your job harder but make you think there is no hope for mankind. On the bright side the things they do sometimes are SO RETARDED the only thing you can do is laugh about it.

We are not saying that we are perfect. Everyone makes mistakes but most people learn from their mistakes.

In our case, we are a group of network engineers who have the challenging task of working with an increasingly hopeless technical support department. Think about the dumbest person you know and make them about 10 times dumber. Thats what we have to work with.

Instead of just bitching amongst ourselves about these retards we decided to share our daily stories for your enjoyment.

If you'd like to share your own stories about working with retards in your workplace shoot us an email @ blogs@workingwithretards.com and we'll post your story or start a blog for you under our domain.
